Reasons why I like, me!

so, blogger is having some real issues as of late and keeps posting my posts on random dates from about a week ago? So i've had to re-post! Sort it out blogger! So anyway, Aunie from SaucyAunie posted 13 reasons to love yourself recently, so I thought I would try and find a number of reasons why I should love little old me! There are six reasons this week, you know what it's like, you think of a number of things, post the final draft(y thing...) And then you think "oh man!! I forgot this..." so I'll try and think of some more soon! Maybe it can be a little "pick me up" thing?

one. My boobs. I.love.boobs. I think they are marvellous! Why not appreciate your own? Take a look at your boobies right now, aren't they awesome?!
two. My hair. I've finally got to the length that i was aiming to be happy with, (the top of my boobs, who'da thunk? See point one...) it's long (yay! Finally!) and it's all shiny and in good (could be better, could as aaaalways be better!) condition.
three. My sarcastic-ness. i'm hilarious, that's all that needs to be said.
four. My stupidity I tend to do a lot of speaking before I think. Which is always followed by someone looking at me with the most curious face. I can be soo silly sometimes that I actually laugh at myself.
five. My old lady-ness I get told over and over that I am an old lady. Liam reminds me almost every other day that he is sure I am an old lady. We went to a party the other night and one of our friends stated that he was finding it fascinating that I had made myself a little nest in the corner of the room; the snuggie wrapped around me, a cup of tea next to me, eating a big bag of pistachio nuts and just listening to what everyone had to say. I'm a little old lady and I'm definitely ok with it!
six. Cornwall. Cornwall is a huge part of my life. I lived there for 18 years and definitely plan to live there again one day. I juuuust need to get Liam to agree... us cornish people, we get a lot of grief for being Cornish. But I bloody love it! I'm so proud to be Cornish, to be a part of a county with so much history, so many beautiful views and so many people who care about the preservation of one place. My great, great, great, great, (etc. etc.) aunty was the last known person to speak fluent Cornish, I just think that is so awesome! If you ever get the chance to visit Cornwall, please do! You'll absolutely love it!

If you are thinking of getting rats at all then you so, absolutely should! They are amazing little creatures! They are like little little people but in rat form! They are so intelligent and so interesting to watch. (never get one on it's own though, please!)

I'm so sad that I'm not a rat lady anymore. At least she's up in ratty heaven with her two sisters :) I hope they are munching on rat nuggets and muesli, I hope they have as many sweet corn munches as they could possibly want! <3

day one//your view today. I drove to my sister's house as it was my day off and that evening we (the hens) were heading out for a meeting, to plan Sadie's hen do. So I thought I'd spend a few hours with my big sis! This was taken on the journey over, I stopped in a little road on the way to Cornwall and shot this pretty picture! (I hope no one spotted me, I imagine I look pretty silly holding up an iPad... Man, I need an iPhone.)
day two//words. quite simply, dr Suess. Everyone needs a little Dr Suess in their life.
day three. Hands. I hope that you recognise these hands! This guy, and his pals feature a lot in our home. They pop up every now and then; cups and bowls in the cupboards, toys on top of the wardrobe, ornaments on the bookshelf.
day four//a stranger. my friend Ryan proposed to his girlfriend on this day. The guy driving the boat is a stranger! Yay for engagement!!

day five//10amYeah that's Chesh on my bed!!
day six//dinnerso, there is a LOT of confusion in my part of the woods as to what dinner actually means to me, it is the meal you eat at 12 o'clock, or lunch, if you will. But to a lot of people, dinner is the meal that you eat in the evening. Liam's grandma always "invites us to dinner" and every time, in my head, I say to myself "how can you eat a roast at 12pm!?" and then I remember and feel rather silly.
day seven//buttonif any of you have any tips on how to keep your buttons attached to your coats, could you puh-lease let me know! I have attached them twice since they've fallen off and they are driving me crazy!
day eight//sunthe sun wasn't very happy this day, we didn't see an awful lot, so I thought I would draw him and his happy self!

If you haven't heard of Matt Cardle, he was an X-Factor contestant two years ago, the week that he sang this song I just fell in love with it, and his voice.

two. Jason Mraz - I'm Yours.

I just love this song, it's a really chirpy love song that you just can't help but jig along to while you're listening to it.

three. Paramore - The Only Exception.

For obvious reasons, this song makes me SO emotional every time that I listen to it, whether i'm at home, or at work and most certainly every time that i'm in the car. I'm usually alone when I listen to paramore in the car and because I have it so loud and sing my little heart out, I am always on the verge of crying my damn eyes out.

four. The Beach Boys - God Only Knows.

There are two reasons why this song is here, one, it is just beautiful and makes me feel so lovey. two. it is on the end scene of Love Actually, and it is such a beautiful scene.

five. Bette Midler - The Rose

This song is just the most beautiful song in the world, it holds many personal reasons for being one of my favourites and it will definitely always be one. Bette midler is just fantastic and I could listen to her all of the time.

six. Christina Perri - Arms. Again, this is one of those songs where you just instantly feel happy while listening to it. I love nothing more than a love song that makes you feel chirpy and loved all in one. It makes me want to hug Liam every time that I hear it.

seven. Ellie Goulding - Your Song

This song was a bit of a spur of the moment choice. I know it's a cover, but I just much prefer this one to the original. It's a really cute song and Ellie Goulding's voice is sooooo nice! It's not really a song that I would usually put into a "love playlist" but for some reason it felt necessary!

eight. The Wanted - Lightening.

Now, if you know me but at all you should know that I am an absolute slave to shit-tacky-awesome-pop. This is no exception. I fucking love this song... seriously.

nine. New Found Glory - Iris.

I chuffing love New Found Glory and you will always find me adding this song to a playlist, no matter what the occasion. Their "From The Screen To Your Stereo" album is awesome and this song is definitely my favourite.

ten. Foo Fighters - Everlong.

This doesn't need an explanation, every one should love this song and feel in love when you listen to it. not just with Dave Grohl either...

eleven. Paramore - My Heart.

This is going to be the song that Liam & I have as our first dance. It's the most beautiful/awesome/pretty/amazing love song in the entire world. I instantly think of Liam when this song starts to play, and we really want to have this version for our dance. we'll make it work. every time we listen to it in the car together we sing the "wooooahhhhs" at the end and it just makes me happy thinking about all of the times we've listened to it together.

twelve. Mcfly - The Heart Never Lies.

This song is simply on here beause i absolutely love to belt it out on my ipod/car stereo/youtube and every time it just gets cuter and cuter.

thirteen. Randy Newman - You've Got A Friend In Me.

So, Liam & I are obsessed with Toy Story. obsessed. Liam a little more so than me, he bloody loves it. You should see the amount of Toy Story related things in our flat. I really really want this to be our second dance at our wedding. yeah, we can have two!! but it's going to take some time trying to get Liam used to the idea... Every one would love it!

fourteen. Jennifer Rush - Power Of Love.

This song always reminds me of my mum, how we used to put it up so loud in her car and we'd sing our hears out. It's such a cute/cheesy song, and i bloomin' love it!!

My birthday 20 days away!eek! Naturally, i've been scowering the internet for awesome things that I would like! Here are a few of those things, you know... if you were wondering what to get me?

one. I wouldn't say that i'm an unlucky person, I just like the idea of having a cute little necklace that may bring me a little extra luck, here and there? or maybe give me some extra that I can give to some friend's who have the worst luck? (distinguished) two. i need a pair of blowfish boots in my life. (office/ebay) three. I have been drinking so much tea recently, I have re-found my love for it! I have also wanted a few new pictures and things to decorate the flat with, so let's put the two together and get me a nice print! (distinguished)four. Those aren't just any nesting dolls, oh no, those are measuring cups too! They are so cute, I must have them! (distinguished.) five. Liam doesn't drink any form of hot drink (other than the very occasional hot chocolate.) but if he did, I would make sure we were both drinking out of the bad boys every time! (distinguished.) six. I haven't actually been able to find a new pair of shoes that look even remotely like this, on the internet. Liberty teamed up with Nike to create these b-e-a-utiful shoes, and I can't seem to find a pair on sale anywhere, I hope they're not exclusive to Liberty!! seven.I've wanted a pair of lilac vans for some time now, but I could never seem to find any! Sure, once I start looking for my birthday, when i'm not allowed to buy things for myself, I find a pair! (office/ebay)

A little known fact about me is that I never ever ever ever pay for apps on my iPod/iPad. Ever! My iPod, I've had for about 5 years now and I think I've paid for one app? It's not because I'm totally cheap, it's because I never know whether the app is going to be worth it! Case point; my friend made me download a £1.99 app recently and it was utter rubbish. £1.99! Just wasted, I'm never going to get that money back! (that doesn't count, he told me to download it from his account because I refused to, but still...)
And then today, Chad from New Found Glory posts a picture of an app called "Monsters ate my condo" and huzzah! there is a "lite" version available for me to try... I try, and I love so I download!! So there you have it, the story of what, i am pretty sure, is the second app i have ever paid for. You should absolutely go and download it now, it's SO much fun! It's only 69p too! Yay for apps!

Music mondays!

Kristen over at Confessions... has started a "Music Mondays" link up, and I must say, I love it. Her idea was to post "Your top 5 favorite songs from a single artist or band" and i've stuck to the "single artist or band" idea, i'm just far too indecisive to choose just five songs though, i'm sorry. I absolutely had to go for six, there were no two-ways about it!

Deaf Havana by Leonuh on Grooveshark

This week's music is by a band called Deaf Havana.

Their second album, fools and worthless liars is definitely my album of 2011. It's an album that you can listen to all year, whether it's sunny as hell outside and you want to ride through the country-side with your sunglasses on, or it's pouring down with rain and you're stuck in traffic feeling a little sorry for yourself. Every week since this album was released I have needed to listen to it because i've missed it for those few days that I hadn't had it in my life. James' voice is just beautiful and the band, together work as a pretty awesome team, it seems! I cannot wait to see them gig again and sing my little heart out!

If you do one thing today, it should be to click that play button and listen to the best thing you'll hear all year. It's also a plus that these guys are some-what handsome, don't you think? Just fyi, the last 30 seconds of "Nicotene And Alcohol..." are my favourite 30 seconds of any song, ever. I rewind to that point over and over when we're listening to it in the car. His voice... yum!

Sometimes the smallest changes will make you feel prettier for the day :) I get bored with my hair quite quickly, so this morning I put my fringe back to a side fringe and I was excited about how my hair looked! I'm pretty sure it looked exactly the same to Liam or anyone else, but to me, it's a little something that makes you feel as though you've made more effort that day!

I'm pretty sure even if I dyed my hair a random colour I would be bored of it a few weeks later!

Don't worry!

Someone hasn't hacked into your account and made you follow a blog you've never heard of. It's me! Just under a different name ;) I have been a bit "Vic" lately and have been un-decided on my blog name. I'm not sure why, I just felt that it sounded a little bit rubbish... Then I thought, it was hard enough picking my blog name to begin with, why would I want to start all over again! Then one evening when I couldn't sleep I started going through some of my old myspace comments. (What's that? Myspace?) and up popped a comment from me, to Liam that said "This is Disneyland, don't talk to me like that." I have absolutely no idea where this sentence actually originates from, but millions of years ago when Liam and I were at my parents house, we were trolling through myspace looking for bands, and in one bands introduction section was the heading "This is Disneyland, Don't talk to me like that!" For some reason I found this hilarious, and for the next couple of weeks if someone pissed me off or said something nasty I would say "um... this is Disneyland... don't talk to me like that!!" and they'd go quiet with confusion.

Now, i'm not saying my blog is now somewhere where I want you all to go quiet with confusion, no no no. It's just something that made me laugh at the time, and makes me laugh still when I think back. It's also pretty fun to think of everything "Disney" that makes you smile, when you see my little header :)

I also changed my layout... but what's new there? haha.

I play with Rex all of the time even when he doesn't want to play with me, I'll sit and bug him. (ok, not all the time, I don't want him to turn into some crazy annoyed dog!) but we were playing tonight and his paw caught my nose ring and pushed it into my nose... Con-sequencing in a nose bleed! I never ever have nose bleeds! Rex sat and watched me for a while and then decided to try and lick my nose better... Thanks Rex!

I learned my lesson! Watch out for those little paws!

2012 goals of ghost-town.

+1 Dye my hair a lighter colour. this goal is here because I have wanted to dye my hair lighter since forever but have been terrified. Two reasons, one, what if I look ridiculous? And two, if my hair is ruined that is just the end of my life as I know it. ok, not really. But if my hair is in a bad condition then I generally feel pants about my day... Liam keeps saying that I should do it because it would suit me, but he's my fiancé, he's supposed to say that!

+2 blog more often. Seriously. This post wasn't called "ghost-town" for nothing. I have been so rubbish around here lately! so my problem is that I feel I should blog about certain things and that I shouldn't blog about others, however, this is my little Internet space, and, as I've said before, I need to blog about what I want to blog about. I've gotten into the habit of not blogging about something because it's either a really short post and seems like a silly thing to waste time posting about or I feel it's something people can't be bothered to read. Man up Leona, blog about anything!

+3 save money. (Spend it on something nice for you and Lima.) a holiday, a trip to London, save for a house, a new puppy, a new bed, a new car... The list is endless! Stop wasting money on rubbish and save for something lovely :)

+4 get my bum in gear and train for primary teaching. this is a hugeeeeee goal for this year. If I don't start stepping on the primary teaching ladder this year I'm going to cry. I am quite happy right now just sitting in my job, my flat, my life and not changing anything, this needs to stop, I need some motivation and I need to start the career I want to be a part of :)

+5 go to Camden market. the place is amazing. End of discussion. Oh, and stay in a nice hotel too!

+6 take more photos with friends/family. this is a must. I always think to myself "I'll leave it this time, I'll do it next time." just do it! As horrible as it sounds, there may not be a next time with that person, and I would absolutely be gutted if I didn't have recent pictures. Liam also bought me my beautiful camera last Christmas and it has had an ashamedly low amount of use!

+7 think of more goals. this is not a cop out, not a way for me to end my list without having to think of more, but I am rubbish at thinking on the spot, I can bet a million pound (ok, I can't... But you get my drift.) that in 2 days time I will think of a new goals and think "aw shit, why didn't I put that down!?". They will only be little ones, but little goals make up the big changes!
-register at a new dentist.
-get some new glasses.

Love Actually! Little known fact, Home Alone 3 is my favourite of the Home Alone movies! Outrageous, I know!

Oh gosh! I would have to say red & green simply because they are THE Christmas colours! I do really like white at Christms though! White snow, white fluffy gloves and scarves, white lights on the Christmas tree! Yep... White.

+3 Do you like to stay in your pyjamas all day or do you like to dress up?
I would usually say pyjamas but I'm actually really looking forward to dressing up and making myself look all pretty! However, staying in your pj's until mid-day is an absolute must!

+4 if you could only buy one person a present this year, who would it be?

+5 Do You Open Your Presents on Christmas Eve Or Christmas Morning?
This must mean Christmas day evening, because why would you open your presents the night before Christmas? In the morning :) then we have a little play with whatever it is we've been given, have lunch and play some games/watch some Christmas movies!

No, and they look far to difficult to make!

+7 What do you like to do on your Christmas break?
It doesn't really matter what i'm doing as long as i'm spending with my favourite people :)

No, not really! Just for it to be a lovely Christmas!

+9 Favorite Christmas smell?
Most people would say real Christmas trees, but I think they smell HORRIBLE! I just live the smell of decorations! Oh! And the smell of the French market stalls with their coffees and hot chocolates and doughnuts!

+10 Favorite Christmas meal or treat?
Matchsticks! And obviously the yummy yummy roast dinner! I am a fan of turkey sandwiches with a little bit of mayo though!

So I came home on my lunch break yesterday to see I had an email from Modcloth, with the link to a wonderful wonderful sale. I thought to myself "I'll just have a little browse..." ( famous last words, I know, right?) and then came across this bad boy.

My goodness, this little gorgeous number just won over my heart instantly! I have never owned a brown dress before, actually, I don't think I have owned anything brown? Then I saw Kristen's

I hope that when I was younger, I didn't watch anything as annoying as this children's tv show.

This show is so irritating!
I have a lot of respect for parents who can sit and watch their child while this is playing in the background. I babysat my friend's little girl once and HAD to turn the channel over because, my god, I could have thrown the tv out of the window. I instantly thought "chuffing hell, my children are not watching this!" and then I suddenly realised, shit. My parents could have been forced to watch irritating programmes like this when I was a kid!

For some reason I had no idea that this film even existed until I spotted it in work a few weeks ago, I noticed the title but it didn't click that it was about Beatrix Potter. (I don't know, I was probably really busy at the time.) I came home from work one evening, started flicking through the channels on the tv and it was on! I'd missed about ten minutes of it but within 2 minutes I was hooked.

I love Renée Zellweger, I think she's one of the most interesting actresses to watch, and she makes such a charming English lady!

"The story of Beatrix Potter, the author of the beloved and best-selling children's book, "The Tale of Peter Rabbit", and her struggle for love, happiness and success."

This film really is an enchanting tale, everything about it is beautiful and charming and it's a film that you can be drawn into completely without even realising. I very rarely find myself completely engrossed in a movie, (you know when you're reading a book and you are so interested in what happens next that you haven't noticed you've turned 5 pages in the last few minutes. You are just absorbed by the words...) but I really was. In fact, I was so interested in simply watching the film that I didn't cotton onto the main, heart-wrenching story line until about five seconds before it began.

Within minutes of it ending I wanted to watch it again, so honestly, just buy this film right now, because it was awesome, emotional, fabulous and, as it says on the tin, enchanting.

It has only just turned to Autumn and I am feeling the chill big time already! It wasn't this cold, this time last year, was it? Every year I think of Christmas and I think "Man, I really love the cold, being wrapped up warm in scarves and gloves and hats and thick socks." and then when it comes to the cold weather actually arriving I suddenly realise that it is actually cold. Not cute-cold, not snuggle-up-with-your-boyfriend-in-front-of-a-cold-fire-cold, no, we don't even have an open fire... we don't even have a fire place... or a gas fire... just radiators, and you can't sit in front of a radiator can you...! It is just bitterly cold. Once the Christmas feel is here, this will all change of course. The lights will be all over town and the stalls from all over Europe will be selling their home-made gifts and coffees and doughnuts and it will smell marvellous and will look gorgeous and i'll be totally fine with absolutely freezing my tits off, because it will be Christmas. yay!

Time for a catch up?

1. I bought yet another diary today, however, this one is small enough to fit in my handbag comfortably, meaning I must carry it everywhere with me just to make sure I am always prepared! I'm growing tired of double booking plans or getting confused with which days I am doing certain things.
2. This is purely to show you the "one man and his dog" love.
3. My mum and I had our feet eaten by fish last week. It was for her 50th birthday (HAPPY BIRTHDAY MUMMA!) and wowie, it was strange! There were two girls sat opposite us who were making such a fuss that I was absolutely terrified of putting my feet in the water, when I did though it was actually really nice! Yes, it was incredibly strange at first, you know the feeling of pins and needles? well it was just like that, but really light and tingly, not horrible. I really recommend it! My feet felt sooo soft afterwards.
4.Liam has a new lady in his life! He bought a new guitar recently, I can't tell you a whole lot about it, I know nothing about guitars. It's a fender though, I know that! All you need to know is that he is in love with it, and it shouldn't really be called a lady, guitars are big man rockstar machines, it sounds wrong calling it a lady. It should atleast be pink to be called a lady.
5. I dyed my hair back to brown recently, I like it, but I bought a red hair dye again the other day... here we go again!
6. OH YEAH. Did I ever tell you that I met Chad Gilbert from New Found Glory? Thursday the 18th of August (just after our holiday, which I WILL tell you about, I just need to upload more pictures...) we went to Cardiff to see New Found Glory and before their set Chad came out to check out the sound of the support band. I grabbed Liam's arm straight away and shouted "Liam! That's Chad!! That's definitely Chad right? Is that really Chad? Right there? Definitely Chad?" "Go and get a picture with him!!!" And so I did! I showed him my tattoo :D

He high-fived me for it! Yay!!

Then we ran back to our friends, my friend Chris said "That was one hell of a good spotting!" and I was chuffed for the rest of the night, I still am to be honest! YAY!

Who can believe that little Rexy is already one years old? Certainly not me! I still see him as the little puppy that will never ever grow <3 I'm glad he's a Jack Russell and is still, and will always be little :) He could be fifty years old and he would still look like a little puppy! I have a confession.

I have lost all motivation for blogging... We got back off of holiday on Monday the 15th and I haven't thought about posting once. I've come on to read people's blogs and catch up on the things i've missed since our holiday and since not being on my little space, but I haven't wanted to share my favourite things from etsy or any fun facts about me.
I think the problem is just that I feel like my blog doesn't actually show me? Does that even make sense? I don't know, i feel like there are so many of you on here who i actually know things about just through reading your blogs!

Part of it is that i'm so bloody unorganised that I don't want to have to rush because i've forgotten to post something on a certain day. (again!) One day i'll want to show you some awesome things i've found from etsy recently and then for a couple of weeks I really can't be bothered. at first I thought, that's pretty shitty of me, and then I thought, you guys are following my little space here because you've liked something about this blog, about me so why pretend to be something that i'm not? I'm certainly not organised, i'm far from it. I can't stress that enough. I don't want days when things need to be posted anymore, I was spontaneous posts about things that are awesome and things that are sad and things that are just making me smile right now.
This is no way means that for the past however many months you've been following me (and thank you for doing so!) that i've been a massive fake and have lied to you the whole time. It just means I haven't been 100% myself in all of the things. About a month ago I actually forgot to take my "52 weeks of..." picture and then I just stopped altogether, not because i'm lazy and can't stick with something, but because I thought "I see this as a chore, more than a learning curve." I know that so many of you guys absolutely love to learn new things about your cameras and you do this by doing such projects, but me, I just learn them by accident. In fact, I wish I could stick to the project with the amount of love for learning and picture taking that you do, but I just can't. I don't think I have that frame of mind! Who knows? Maybe one day i'll find it and then i'll blog about it properly!

Also, some times I just want to say fuck. fuck fuck fuck. I'm just too scared to come out with in and feel like I offended a follower and then that follower no longer follows. Then I thought, Leona, you're not on here for popularity. You're here to have fun with your views/loves/hates/smiles and whoever wants to join you on the way is a huge bonus! If you don't like something I have said because I have sworn, then you probably aren't going to like me in real life because I do swear, very often! If you aren't going to like me in real life (real life... like this isn't real life right now... me typing. You know what I mean!) Then there is no point in reading my blog?
Basically, what i'm trying to say is... i'm an unorganised girl who likes to swear, doesn't like to plan things and i'd like you all to see how awesome my hair looks in that picture and I want you all to know how much I miss it...

But I really am a 21 year old piscean, with the mentality of a 7 year old kid and the hobbies of a 70 year old lady all wrapped up in one. Normally, you go away on holiday and your family are always that little bit worried that something is going to happen to you, so you keep in contact as much as possible just to let them know that nothing has, well we fly from Heathrow tomorrow morning and I am actually scared that something is going to happen to someone that I know while we are away. Why? Because insanity has broken out in England.

Home Secretary Theresa May has condemned the riots as "sheer criminality"
Fires and violence have also broken out in Lewisham, Peckham, Croydon and Clapham Junction.
- At least 215 people have been arrested and 25 charged so far in relation to the three days of violence
Shop windows have been smashed and looting has also taken place in Birmingham

How can we do this to our own country? I'm baffled as to why it has gotten to this stage? This isn't even rioting, rioting is fueled by beliefs, this is just sheer idiocy and there is absolutely no thought or remorse for anything. I feel sick to my stomach that I live in the same country as people as horrible as this, people who are happily running around the streets of London terrifying families, threatening people and looting shops. This is your own country.
I also cannot believe that people are turning this into some form of joke. Here are some of the facebook groups that have been made:

This week we've been preparing for our holiday (obviously...) and while putting some more songs onto my Ipod, I thought i would take a look at my top 25 played songs. Some are a little... uh... guilty pleasure-ish (Yeah... I happen to love Justin Bieber's "baby". what of it?) I thought I would show you them!

This week I have lost a lot of my time to "Tiny Zoo". Seriously, it's so much fun! I can't have Ox's or bears elephants in our flat, so i'll have them in my own little zoo on my Ipod!

I've really been loving my hair recently! Really really! It's just nice and flow-y and feels in really good condition! I'm so happy that i've got to the stage where I don't feel the need to straighten my hair anymore to make it look good. I'm genuinely happy with how it looks when I wake up in the morning, or after i've had a shower and then let it dry naturally. Yay! Although, I am thinking about dying my fringe blonde and making it a funky colour...

Played with Danni's kittens! I think they're about 4/5 months old now, but they are still so adorable! Danni's sister ordered some weights from amazon and she got a tonne of boxes with them, so we had some fun with kitties in boxes, some leaves were involved too. (No leaves were harmed in the making of this blog post.)

I'm sorry if you're bad with blood, but I cut my hand today! I was doing the dishes and as I was cleaning a glass out it split and I cut my hand! I was so scared it was going to be much worse than what it was because it hurt like a b*tch! And then the bubbles just started turning red, thank Goodness it was only a few little cuts! They were so sore though!

I also met my mum and sister in town and we did a bit of shopping. I bought three strapless tops for our holiday, they are nice and thin so should stop me from sweating buckets when we're over there! I also bought a really pretty dress with a cute pattern around the edges :) My mum was pretty adamant on me buying it! I bought some awesome flip flops/sandal things that I am in love with! They are so tacky, they're gorgeous! I also bought some new books, I cannot wait to read them! But i'm going to have to wait for our holiday, a ten hour flight without a book will kill me... Today also included cleaning the rats cage, giving them a bath, giving Rex a bath and putting in my avon order!

Went for a four hour dog walk, with Booth, Lilly (the dog) Kev and of course Liam. (and Rex... but that was obvious, right?) It was sooooo warm, it was really nice to walk in. We went to a place called Plym Bridge, which is where we always go for really long dog walks. Rex was really well behaved, so it was nice and peaceful too!

He was pretty tired after, all he's done since we got home is sleep <3

We also had a really yummy salad for tea! It was far too hot to eat anything else and now I have an obsession with croutons! We had some with our tea and there was some left over in the packet, I had a little munch on them and now want even more! At least it's a healthy yummy snack, right?

This morning I had a doctors appointment, which meant that I was up nice and early and got back to the flat in time to make a cooked breakfast for Liam & I :) It was mega yummy! I love waking up early enough to have a productive day! We then headed to my sisters to take Rex and The Girls (Minx & Mia, Sadie's dogs) for a walk! Yes... OK. I know, it's saturday again and I am posting my fun fact friday. I feel that subconciously, my brain is telling me to post this a day late all the time because if we ever actually met in person (you and I, not myself and my brain...) you would expect me to forget and need to be reminded the night before. So, i'm actually doing you a favour by making sure you're aware that you would need to text me or ring me to say "Hey Leona, remember that we're meeting tomorrow!?". That's my reason, and i'm sticking with it!

Please forgive me for what I am about to tell you! 75% of the time, I don't think about the things I say before I say them.. After I have said something I know that it's completely wrong and it makes no sense, but i've already said it. so...

Liam's mum was going to Aiya Napa for her holiday, for weeks she would tell us how excited she was and when she left I finally decided to find out where it was. Now, instead of asking "Where is Aiya Napa?" I just went for this....my reason for this? It sounds like it should be in Canada, it doesn't sound like it would fit in any other country!

Liam: why don't AMERICA put Paramore into the Eurovision song contest? Me: Yeah! It would make loads of sense? Don't you think? They're popular, and they have a better chance of winning! Liam: America? Putting Paramore into the EUROvision song contest? Me: Yeah... are they not allowed? Liam: In the EUROvision song contest? The euro... Me:... oh.

Liam made his journey to Sonisphere Festival this afternoon, he's there for one week (a whole week!). He's volunteering in the Rock Royalty area (I have no idea what that means but some of you who are aware of Sonisphere may know?) The festival doesn't start until this weekend, but he's there to work, so the fun begins tomorrow morning!

I really hope that he has the most amazing time, makes some ace friends and really has some great experiences. I also hopes he meets some awesome rock stars!

It's strange... Coming home to a flat without him, and knowing that he won't be home for a whole week is a little depressing. I'm really excited for him and I know that this experience will be so much fun for him, but I can't help but miss him like mad already! It's not even been 24 hours! Part of me is like "Man up Leona!" But life is just so much more exciting when i've got my Lima in it. Even watching tv is more exciting! haha

Well, it's his birthday at the end of the month so i'm searching for birthday presents for him!

Fun Fact Friday [#14]

Since when did it get to friday already? I've only got four sleeps left until i'm back to work, boo! This evening i'm off to my besty's house for a sleepover :). Today has already been a productive day, I woke up at 9:30, watched some Jeremy Kyle (of course!) had a shower, took Rex for a walk to Pets At Home, bought him some new squeaky balls and bought the rats some new treats/toys. All before 12pm! I wasted my day yesterday so I was adamant I wasn't going to do it today! So, this weeks fun fact...

There was a show which was around in the 80's (i think it was the 80's?) called Red Dwarf, you've more than likely seen it, it's repeated endlessly on tv these days. Well, it scares the pants off of me. There are two things that scare me the most about this show. Number one...

The theme music. Don't ask me why this scares me, but it really does. I had to listen to the first few seconds of this video to check that it was the right one and now i'm just freaked out! How can anyone be scared of this!? It's not even a scary song! I'm right aren't i, there is nothing scary about this song to anyone else? I remember having my tv on in the background once while I was in my bedroom once and I suddenly felt scared, after about 20 seconds i realised it was the song and had to change the channel! How bizarre, right?

The second thing that terrifies me about this show...

The character on the right in the striped suit. I believe he's called The Cat? Again, there is nothing scary about him, and yet searching through google for a good enough picture was freaking me out! It's a character in a tv show, and he's probably the nicest one in the show! What on earth is wrong with me? I tried explaining my fear of the two to my parents one day and they just sort of stared and laughed at me for a while, because it's so mad! (I actually had to scroll the page down so that I couldn't see the picture of him... God, I need to get a grip!) I really hope this has amused you in some way! I hope that the next time you are watching this show you think of poor little old me!

On Wednesday Liam and I made our way up to Landan (Ok, London, but it's always more fun when you say it like that!) for probably the most exciting gig for a very very long time. You've heard of a little band called Jimmy Eat World right? Well, on Wednesday 22nd July, we made our way up to The HMV Forum, where we would be seeing their two albums, Clarity and Bleed American played in their entirety, back to back. Yeah, we were pretty excited. I can't even explain to you how excited Liam was. He kept saying "ahhh! They're going to play this" "Oh, I forgot that they were going to play this tonight!" Bless his little cottons!

"Goodbye Sky Harbour"

Even if you don't know this song, and think, "wow.. it's 8 minutes long!" (it's actually 16 minutes long on the album...) Just listen to the last two minutes, because it's just awesome! This is the last song on Clarity, and it was amazing! I'm not a huge fan of this album, it has some really good songs on it but to me, it's not 'Jimmy' enough? Does that even make sense? You could just feel that the crowd were just waiting for the moment they heard Bleed American, and you just knew that it was going to be amazing!

"Sweetness"

There was no support band, it was just pure Jimmy Eat World, they came on stage at around 8:30 and finished at about 10:40. They played other songs in their encore, 23, my best theory, pain and Big Casino and seeing Liam's face when they started playing 23 was probably the cutest thing ever.

"The Middle"

I won't overload you with videos, but if you want to check out some more of the set, head over to this guy's youtube, because he took some pretty sweet videos! I love it when you find someone who has taken clear videos, with no one screaming the lyrics out in the background or someone shaking the camera so much that you can't actually see who the band is, why do people put these on youtube?
They end the night by taking a picture of the crowd. We had one of the best spots in the venue (Unless you were front row, obviously!) About 30-40 rows of people back, the floor raised and it was pretty much a huge balcony about 5 steps higher than the crowd, we were stood on the barrier of this balcony so we had absolutely no one blocking our view and we had the perfect view of the band! If you ever have a chance to see a band at the HMV forum, you absolutely should, it's an awesome little venue! This really was an amazing gig and it'll be one I remember for a very very very long time!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY TO ALL THE WONDERFUL DADS.

This is my dad! Paul James May, he is 54 years old and he is absolutely awesome :)
He still has that exact same hair cut...it's just a little more grey...

He's hilarious, nutty, sensitive, caring, so helpful, he will bail you out of any car trouble you may have, he will annoy you until the sun comes down, he has the strongest Cornish accent I have ever heard, he uses the phrase "proper job" as an actual phrase, he bites his nails until there is nothing left, he loves snooker, he has a huge love for 50's - 60's music (which has rubbed off on me and my siblings!), he has a touch screen phone (which even I can't use!) his hair cut is often reffered to as a 'mop' and his eyes are still insanely bright blue. He's absolutely awesome and I am so thank ful that I have such an awesome dad. <3

This is 100% the most annoying thing about myself. No matter how much I try to remember things and be more organised, it never, ever works. I have bought myself countless diaries and calenders and then I forget to look at them, meaning I forget whatever it was that I had planned! If you ever think i'm ignoring you, i'm absolutely not, I simply have forgotten. It has got to the point now where my friends know to text me or ring me the morning before we have plans, simply because they know how likely I am to forget. I'm surprised i've managed to get anywhere with my Avon, I expected myself to forget to send the orders off or forget to take them to customers at certain times, so far, i have been pretty good! (yay!) this definitely should have been part of my 101 in 1001 days list. Although, not really, because if I had a solution to fix the forgetfulness then I wouldn't need it to be on the list?... Maybe one day my memory will snap into action and i'll remember plans? Keep your fingers crossed for me?

On a side note, when the frick did it get to Friday!

Discovered that our beloved Rex has his own little spot. It's behind the sofa, on the window ledge. He'll sit there for hours in the sunshine and just watch people. This little man isn't stupid, he knows what an easy life is!

Found this awesome little shop on etsy that make the most adorable hip flasks (among a tonne of other things) i'm so tempted to get Liam one of these for his birthday. There's even a storm trooper one!

+ 101 in 1001 days

I originally started this as a 'bucket list'... however, I have recently started thinking about how a bucket list is something that someone creates for the things they would like to achieve before they die. I absolutely do not want to be thinking about the day I die every single time that I check on my list to see how I am doing. It's going to happen, I just don't need to be reminded of this fact. The second reason is that quite a lot of the things on my list were little things, like 'Stop biting my nails' 'grow my hair to the middle of my back' 'save money', and to me, they seemed pretty insignificant to that of someone who would actually make a bucket list because they only have a certain amount of time to do the things they have always wanted to do.

It will also give me the chance to look back over the things I have achieved this year, things i'll most certainly forget that I had achieved, and it will push me toward the things I haven't yet started. It's a nice way of looking back on your year and not thinking 'man... that year flew by and i'm not really sure what I achieved'. Even if it's that you've grown your nails, well done for doing it!!

This project hasn't started yet, but as I have been a terrible blogger as of late, I wanted to start a project that made me blog something every day, even if it was something little. I just hate to think that people are checking back to The Laughing Lion and are dissapointed when there is nothing new to read, I know how dissapointed I get when my favourite bloggers haven't updates me on their lives! Geez guys, come on! So this will just be a little project to show you what I have done during my day. Whether it was something I saw on a walk with Rex, or something I cooked, it will be a nice little way of keeping in touch!

So have you noticed the new layout?

I really like it :) It's simple, but quirky enough for me! I also had to get a little clashing pattern into it, i love clashing patterns! They are a must!

So, tonight I have stuffed my face with party rings, drank some milk and tried to get this layout sorted!
It did it's annoying "no I don't want to work for you just yet" but then it decided to man up and get on with it. Some pages aren't ready yet, but I just decided to get it done before I totally forget!

I absolutely love this quote with all of my heart. It's not that I absolutely love the film Hook (I do, but it's not that...) it's just that dreams are such a huge part of my life in a weird way.

My Granny always believed that dreams were where you got to be with loved ones who have passed, and I believe this too. I know what you're thinking, uh, crazy lady! but I do. Ever since I can remember I have always been able to remember my dreams vividly and on more than a handful occasion I have dreamed something and then a month, a few months or even a year down the line, it has happened. Strange, I know! I can't begin to tell you how freaked out I was the first time it happened! I won't get into detail about why I believe that loved ones visit you in your dreams but I really do. It's so hard to explain, how can someone who has gone just come back and visit you?? I've tried a million times and it just doesn't come out!

My granny would always mention that my Grandad was "visiting her while she slept last night" and it truly was a comfort to her. When my Granny passed away in August 09 I really believed that one day, whether it was 10 days, 10 weeks or 10 years, she would come and visit me.

It's another way of coping with horrible things... It's a comfort to know that yes, they might be gone, but they care enough to come and say hello to you when they could be out there, wherever they are, doing whatever they want to be doing, and they would rather spend the time saying hello to you, and letting you know that they are ok.

Every time that I watched Hook when I was younger it would always always always make me think of my Granny and Grandad, and I would ask her to tell me about the times that Grandad came to say "hello". So this quote has always had a huge place in my heart, even before I was old enough to know why.

It freezes when I have more than three tabs open, and they aren't even strenuous ones like three youtube videos loading at once. It actually had an episode earlier when I tried loading a youtube video, it just wouldn't have it, so I feel I must start saving properly in order to get myself a new one! Sorry laptop, i'll still love you all the same.

5. Work Work Work.

As you know, I am now an avon representative! It's going really well at the moment and it's a nice excuse to get out and meet people! I have spent the last couple of evening sorting everything out and getting my butt into gear to make sure everything is running smoothly! I went out tonight and picked up 35 of the brochures that i handed out last week, and have some nice little orders stacking up! It's exciting!

I absolutely hate the sound of scraped ice. Run your nails down a chalk board and it doesn't bother me... well, it bothers me in the sense that it's not a very nice sound, but I'd sit in a room and listen to it over and over if it meant I didn't have to hear scraped ice.

I remember hating it as far back as when we lived in Gunnislake, Cornwall, I must have been younger than 6 or 7 and we had a huge freezer in the porch, I went to get some chips out and just freaked out when they scraped against the ice. Even thinking of the sound is making me cringe!

The worst thing about it is i'll always forget that I detest the sound until I am just about to hear it. I'll put the shopping away and i'll scrape the packet of food against the ice. I always have to make a 'ahaaaklfjaf' sort of noice when it's happening otherwise it makes me urge too! How can a sound have such an impact on someone!? It happens all the time in supermarkets, i'll be pushing my trolley down the frozen food isle and someone will be picking a pizza out of the freezing, not knowing that by doing so, they are making me want to throw up!

I'm brunette y'all.

So today...

Picture this, I'm standing behind the tills today in work and all I can hear is this toddler crying his eyes out. Sure, it's an annoying sound but this poor little guy sounded so tired that I couldn't blame him for crying his heart out. I know that I get grouchy when i'm tired, so who am I to blame him for being a little grouchy?

He continutes for around ten minutes, when I watch an old lady (around 65-75) walk over, lean forward into his pram and then move away. The child's grandma then chases after the lady shouting "You don't tell him to shut up, you tell me if you've got a problem!" Then I thought, did this lady actually just tell a random child to shut up!? Who on earth does she think she is!?

Needless to say the child's grandma was livid. The old lady came up to my till, trying to hide her face from the grandma as much as possible while she was saying "So you've never had a tired granchild yourself? No... I find that hard to believe. You do not talk to another person's granchild like that. Do you hear me? Who do you think you are!?" She didn't say a single word back. She just hid her face, looked at me as if to say "can you believe this" and then left. She just walked away. Not giving the child or the grandma an apology. I just wanted to run after her and say sure, the child was crying, to anyone who doesn't know that particular child, it can be annoying, but it's a CHILD. If it's not happy, it needs to let someone know!

The grandma apologised over and over to me, I told her not to be silly and I totally would have done the same thing. You could see how angry she was and just upset that someone decided to take it upon themselves to be horrible to her granchild.

Really, who did that woman think she was? I can't get over how angry she made me feel, let alone the grandma herself! I didn't hear what she said to the little boy, but I could see from the ladies reaction that it wasn't very nice at all. It angers me to think of the things she could have said and the nasty tone I imagine she said it in.

I really hope when I have children someone doesn't take it upon themselves to try and parent my child in that way. A complete stranger too! I could maybe understand if the child seemed as if it was at harm or was uncomfortable but you could just tell that the poor guy was incredibly tired.

I really hope he gets a good night sleep and the horrible old lady doesn't!

It's not just me right? I'm not just being totally negative about the whole thing?

This post is coming from a brand new desk top! Our friend Michael is a bit of a computer nerd and has built Liam his very own desktop computer! (Which he will be obsessing over for the next few days... bless him.)

This weeks fun fact?
I am allergic to these little things...

Not plasters in general, but plasters with pictures. Can you imagine how much it sucked being a little kid and not having awesome plasters on your booboo's? My friends would have plasters with Belle from Beauty And The Beast and I would have a boring brown plaster on me. :(

No, not kitties, the bubble bath!

I'll itch while i'm in the bath and then will itch for days afterwards! I never got to use these bad boys when I was a kid...

My mum always tried letting me use a teeny tiny bit of it but it would just aggrevate my skin and I would sulk :( I recently tried using some bubble bath and everything was ok when I was actually in the bath, and then of course, I itched. Damn it :(
Can you imagine how boring a bath is without bubble bath... it's just water!

ps. i've just realised that some of you readers may be reading this and thinking, uhhh, plasters? No, those are band aids! When we were in Florida I had a conversation that went something like this...
"Do you have any plasters I could have?"
"I'm sorry, what?"
"A plaster, I just need it for a blister."
"No, I don't thik we do. We have something called a band aid..."
"Ahhh! I'm sorry!"

Ok, as of late I have been absolutely pants with updating you guys on my 52 weeks of Wreck This Journal! I have no idea why, I'll take the pictures, but forget to post them, and by the time I remember it's too late and the week has gone. So I decided to do a big post of some of the photos every couple of weeks! I'm sure i'll decide to go back to the normal way of things anyway!
